Job summary

Maas Energy Works, Inc. is seeking an Operations Field Technician II for our Idaho site. You will ensure the RNG facility equipment related to biogas handling, upgrading, cleanup, and combustion runs reliably and safely.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with team members. The role requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, field work, and the ability to read P&ID’s and blueprints; experience with PLCs, VFDs, and large rotating equipment is preferred.

Position Title: Operations Field Technician II - Idaho

Supervisor: Field Operations Manager

Compensation: Starting hourly range $25-38; Commensurate to Skills and Experience

Hours: Full-time: Monday- Friday, 8:30am– 5:00pm

Three weeks after two years of employment

Eight paid holidays per year.

Two paid flexible holidays per year.

Maas Energy Works is the leading developer and operator of on-farm, waste-to-energy systems in the United States. The Company designs, develops, constructs, and operates biogas powered renewable energy generation systems on dairy farms. Our projects include anaerobic digesters, biogas-powered electric generation, and renewable compressed natural gas upgrading.

Position Description:

The Facility Operator will ensure the RNG Facility, and all equipment related to biogas handling, upgrading, clean up, and combustion is operating properly. The operator will be expected to perform routine maintenance, repair equipment as necessary, and troubleshoot issues as they arise, while coordinating with co-workers and business partners as needed. Equipment to be operated and serviced will most commonly include PLCs, data loggers, biogas blowers, 3‑phase motors, and electrical wiring. Applicants should have experience with a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment and enjoy troubleshooting issues within industrial facilities. Excellent communication skills (verbal, phone, email, and text) are needed to work in this team‑based, distributed support environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Troubleshoot issues on‑site or remotely as they arise
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Coordinate repair work and perform maintenance checklists
  • Communicate via email, text, and phone with team members, clients, and business partners as necessary
  • Utilization of maintenance tracking software
  • Support team members and prioritize reactive and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with safety procedures
Qualifications & Skills:

Required

Ability to work in field unsupervised

General mechanical and electrical experience (2+ years preferred)

Analog and Discrete I/O – Calibration and troubleshooting

VFD’s

24 VDC – 480 VAC electrical

Experience with large horsepower rotating equipment

Ability to and desire to learn new equipment, software and electronic interfaces

Analytical/Critical thinker, ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems

Quick learner

Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s & blueprints

Welding & Fabrication

Knowledge of drive train alignment procedures

Rigging and lifting procedures

Proficient in English; Spanish helpful but not required

Valid U.S. driver’s license

Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions and around livestock/agricultural environments

Preferred

Familiarization with laboratory procedures & testing

General understanding of dairy farm manure handling practices

Understanding of SCADA systems and PLC logic

HVAC experience

Physical Demands Requirements

This job mainly operates in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, etc. Noise level may be loud at times and works around moving mechanical or construction equipment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to move objects of at least 50 lbs., and use leg, abdominal, and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
