The Role

As a Field Technician II, you will play a critical role in maintaining and restoring network services across assigned territories. This is a field-based position supporting telecommunications infrastructure, network reliability, and customer service continuity. Technicians begin their workday from home in a company-provided vehicle and travel to multiple network sites throughout their territory. This role offers the opportunity to build technical expertise while creating pathways for future growth.

The Main Responsibilities

• Respond to network outages and service restoration activities to maintain service availability.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications and network infrastructure equipment.
• Perform OTDR and other network testing activities to identify and resolve service issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on network facilities and supporting infrastructure.
• Provide smart hands support at remote network sites.
• Maintain site equipment, including HVAC systems, generators, and related infrastructure.
• Accurately document work activities and utilize Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook and Teams, for communication and administrative tasks.
• Support overall network reliability, uptime, and customer service continuity across assigned territories.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant telecommunications, network infrastructure, or field technical experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing network equipment.
• Knowledge of fiber optic networks.
• Experience performing OTDR testing and network diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently across multiple field locations.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental elements while performing field-based responsibilities.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a company vehicle and travel throughout assigned territories.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service issues.

Preferred

• Experience supporting telecommunications network operations and service restoration activities.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on network facilities.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems, generators, or supporting site infrastructure.
• Strong administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience providing smart hands support in a telecommunications or network environment.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced field service environment.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$49,674 - $66,300 in these states: WY
