Job summary

Solutionz, Inc. seeks a Technician I, Integrated Critical Infrastructure to install and document structured cabling, network infrastructure, security devices, and AV components at customer sites in Northern Virginia and beyond.

You will assist with termination, labeling, testing, and certification of copper and fiber systems, mount equipment, and ensure adherence to NEC/BICSI standards while traveling locally as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in low-voltage cabling, structured cabling, physical security, network infrastructure, AV installation, or related technical field preferred.
• Basic understanding of copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
• Familiarity with network infrastructure components, equipment racks, patch panels, and cable management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, infrastructure diagrams, and installation documentation.
• Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and installation practices.
• Understanding of NEC, BICSI, and low-voltage industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport materials and equipment as required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel locally and occasionally outside the immediate area when required.
• Commitment to professional growth and advancement within the ICI organization.

Responsibilities

• Install structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, security devices, and supporting technology components in accordance with project documentation and industry standards.
• Assist with the installation, termination, labeling, testing, and certification of copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
• Install and assemble equipment racks, cable trays, ladder racks, cable management systems, patch panels, and related infrastructure components.
• Install network switches, power conditioning equipment, building access control devices, surveillance cameras, and associated hardware.
• Follow Solutionz documentation, project drawings, specifications, and installation standards.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, technicians, and customers to ensure project requirements and schedules are understood.
• Support the delivery, staging, inventory management, and organization of equipment and materials at customer sites.
• Utilize hand tools, punch tools, testing equipment, and power tools in a safe and professional manner.
• Assist with system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and final punch-list completion activities.
• Learn and apply local low-voltage requirements, NEC standards, and applicable BICSI standards.
• Read and interpret network infrastructure, structured cabling, security, and AV system drawings.
• Learn basic AV networking concepts and equipment mounting techniques.
• Support quality control efforts by ensuring installations meet company and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, daily reports, and time-tracking records.
• Keep office spaces, vehicles, tools, and job sites clean and organized.
• Travel to customer locations as required to support project objectives.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and advancement toward Technician II responsibilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
