Job summary

Intertek is seeking an Entry Level Field Technician I to join our Canton, MA team. You will perform site observations, operate testing equipment such as soil and concrete tests, and document results under supervision within the Intertek-PSI unit.

This entry role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel up to 15% with occasional heavy lifting. You’ll work outdoors in various weather conditions and grow within a leading quality and safety solutions

• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Lift, move, push and pull 30–50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.

The Entry Level Field Technician I is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6 months of construction related experience
• ACI Certification
