The Role

We have an immediate opening for Field Technician I. Join a team that delivers critical network infrastructure services to customers across the region. This field-based role is ideal for technically inclined professionals who enjoy hands-on work, troubleshooting complex issues, and traveling between customer locations. Candidates will receive extensive training and mentorship before working independently, creating an excellent opportunity for entry-level talent with strong technical aptitude to build a rewarding career in telecommunications and network operations.

The Main Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair network equipment and infrastructure
• Troubleshoot network issues involving routers, fiber, and related technologies
• Respond to and resolve service trouble tickets in a timely manner
• Perform equipment and card replacements as required
• Conduct fiber testing and troubleshooting using OTDR equipment
• Travel between customer sites to support installation and repair activities
• Support preventative maintenance activities to ensure network reliability
• Participate in on-call and overtime support after completing training

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience or exposure to installation, repair, or technical field-service work
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental elements while performing field-based responsibilities.
• Basic understanding of routers, networking equipment, or telecommunications technologies
• Exposure to fiber installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently after training and follow established procedures
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently between customer locations
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying field environments
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with DC Power systems
• Generator maintenance or troubleshooting experience
• HVAC experience in a technical or field-service environment
• OTDR experience for fiber testing and diagnostics
• Telecommunications, networking, utility, or infrastructure field-service background
• Experience supporting customer locations across a geographic territory
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance and repair documentation
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly in a technical environment

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$45,021 - $60,027 in these states: TX
