Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a Field Cyber Technician to operate IT systems safely and efficiently, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The role includes Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) technical support and international travel to vessels.

You will design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, monitor systems, and manage security patches while coordinating with vendors and customer groups. Expect six months at home and six months abroad.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical associate degree preferred; experience may substitute.
• Formal mechanical/hydraulic training or formal electrical/electronics training.
• Networking skills with Cisco routing & switching; TCP/IP knowledge; industry certifications such as NET+, SEC+, MCSE, CCNA/CCNP.
• Willing to work offshore in harsh weather environments on rotation or callout basis.
• Must pass a drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Must obtain a valid Passport and TWIC Card.
• Willing to travel internationally on short notice for up to six weeks and at least six months out of the year.

Job description

The Field Cyber Technician is responsible for the operation of Information Technology (IT) systems safely and efficiently, as well as the day-to-day operations, including implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Additional duties include Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) technical and operational support.

These Technicians can live anywhere in the contiguous US and will travel to their vessels to work internationally. They can expect to travel six months out of the year and be at home six months out of the year.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

• Design, procure & install, configure, and support IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices.

• Implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of an IT system that includes Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2016, SMTP, Windows 7/8/10, and Microsoft Office suites within a closed environment.

• Install, configure, and maintain client and 3rd party product components. Ensure the design and development of integrated business, engineering secure communication/data systems, and products support the achievement of the client’s business goals.

• 53/CNSSI1253 and NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).

• Respond to system failures and work with vendors/Customer groups to resolve issues related to hardware and software.

• Perform regularly scheduled hardware and software maintenance, security patches, and database and file system backups.

• Analyze and resolve product support deficiencies.

• Monitor and track trouble tickets (emails) and change requests to ensure high-quality customer service.

• Prepare detailed systems administration plans and level of effort estimates for project deadlines; provide a thorough bill of materials and cost estimates for new hardware and software or upgrades to and maintenance of existing hardware and software.

• Support customer Gov’t secure communications operation, troubleshooting, and installation.

• Manage and troubleshoot Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and their network communication.

• Act as primary client interface to integrate all client systems. Coordinate network changes to allow access over a corporate network. Provide all physical network access mediums for integration to provide the most secure access method.

• Additional duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Technical associate degree or tech trade school preferred; experience may be considered in place of formal education.

• Formal mechanical and hydraulic training or formal electrical and electronics training.

• Must possess strong networking skills with hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, VLAN management, VSAT operation concept, and in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP. Must hold or be able to receive industry-recognized Certifications such as NET+, SEC+, MCSE, CCNA/CCNP.

• Willing to work offshore in harsh weather environments on a rotation or callout basis.

• Must pass a drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.

• Will be required to ride boats, barges, and air transportation to remote areas.

• Must obtain a valid Passport and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card).

• Must be willing to travel internationally on short notice for up to six weeks and at least six months out of the year.

The hourly range for this position is $41.88 - $62.84
