Job summary

Atlas is on the front lines of California’s transportation infrastructure, performing lab and field testing to ensure asphalt concrete, cement concrete and related materials meet strict quality standards. The role involves hands-on testing, field support and collaboration with engineers to keep projects compliant and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, 3+ years of material testing experience, a CA driver’s license, and relevant certifications such as Nuclear Gauge

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • 3 years of Material Testing Experience.
  • Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel within the State of California.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Minimum of 3 years of current experience in inspection, sampling and testing of materials used on state transportation projects.
  • Experience in performing compaction testing and Nuclear Gauge Operator Training.
  • ACI certification for Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 or similar certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform lab testing during the production and placement of asphalt concrete, Portland cement concrete, and other construction related materials such as oil binder, aggregates, cements, and admixtures.
  • Technician may also visit quarries and mine pits to witness sampling, stockpiling and testing samples of binders and cement admixtures and related materials.
