APM Steam is seeking Field Technicians to service the east coast and Midwest. You will conduct steam trap surveys and perform repairs to ensure optimal system performance in healthcare, educational, and industrial facilities.

This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and willingness to travel up to 50% with a valid driver; license. You will collaborate with clients to optimize steam systems and document findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Ability to travel extensively to client facilities (up to 50%).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver; license with clean driving record and daily access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct steam trap surveys at healthcare and industrial facilities, educational institutes, and manufacturing plants.
  • Inspect steam trap systems, identify malfunctioning or defective traps, and determine the repair or replacement actions.
  • Utilize specialized tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot steam trap issues effectively.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of steam traps, ensuring proper functionality and efficiency of the systems.
  • Collaborate with clients to address their needs and provide recommendations for optimizing steam trap performance.
  • Document survey findings, repairs performed, and recommendations for future maintenance or improvements.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment at job sites.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in mechanical repair and troubleshooting, preferably with steam trap systems or in a related field
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in mechanical systems is a plus
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively to client facilities, including overnight stays when necessary (50%)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and daily access to a vehicle
