Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a CMT Field Technician to join our Lexington team. No experience is required, as you will learn under experienced professionals with paid training and certification fee coverage.

You will conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites, with guidance from senior staff and project managers. Training will cover ECS methodologies and reporting findings precisely per engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills across speaking, reading, and writing.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: conduct observation, testing, and sampling of soils, aggregates, and concrete on CTS sites under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: perform routine field/lab tests following industry standards and equipment guidance.
• Data Collection: perform calculations and data reduction; assist with drafting and admin tasks as needed.
• Communication: maintain daily contact with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report changes to supervisor.

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Lexington team. No prior experience is needed, as you\'ll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks.

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials, including soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction materials testing project sites; Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.


• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance.


• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection; May assist with calculations, drafting, and other administrative duties as requested.


• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; Communicate changing site conditions and additional requested testing to supervisor; Attend project meetings as requested; Assist with organization of field equipment and notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed.


• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; Document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.


• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.


• Must have valid driver\'s license and insurance.


• Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.


• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.


• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.


• OSHA 10 certification may be required.


• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).


• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
