Job summary

Mariani Enterprises, LLC is seeking a dedicated Technician to restore and steward natural areas. You will remove invasive plants using ecological mowing, hand and mechanical removal, and selective herbicide application to support native ecosystems, while following safety and quality standards.

This hourly position pays $19.00–$22.00 and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and tuition reimbursement after one year. We encourage applicants of all backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois or Wisconsin pesticide applicator license.
• Ability to operate mowers, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, pruners, and handsaws.
• Demonstrate an acceptable level of basic plant recognition and horticultural knowledge.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50 lbs.).
• Ability to work outside in various conditions.
• Some natural areas restoration experience.
• S130/S190 or Midwest Ecological Prescription Burn Crew Member Certificate.
• Ability to use chainsaw.

Responsibilities

• Haul and load plant refuse and clean up the job site.
• Follow instructions given by your production coordinator or crew leader.
• Maintain a high standard of quality.

Job Overview

Grow your career with Mariani Landscape! A Technician is responsible for the restoration and stewardship of natural areas. Use industry standard techniques to remove invasive plants and promote the health and beauty of native ecosystems. This includes, but is not limited to, ecological mowing, hand and mechanical removal of plants, applying herbicides, and assisting in prescribed burns.

Position range: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour.
