Job summary

Cable One, Inc. is hiring a field technician to install customer service drops and outlets in homes and businesses.

You will use test equipment and online tools to troubleshoot reception issues and repair problems from customer equipment to the first distribution amplifier. Ideal candidates will have a valid driver’s license, a willingness to work overtime or on-call, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot with electronic test equipment and online tools; diagnose and repair reception issues.
  • Ensure proper signal levels at terminations on customer premises.
  • Suggest service upgrades and educate customers on equipment options.
  • Support company values and collaborate with team to fulfill responsibilities.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Connect customers to what they love by installing customer service drops or outlets in residential and business properties.
  • Use electronic test equipment and online diagnostic tools to troubleshoot drops or outlets, diagnose and repair reception performance issues, and resolve all problems from customer equipment to the first distribution amplifier.
  • Ensure proper upstream and downstream signal levels at each termination on the customer’s premises.
  • Proactively suggest upgrades of existing services and educate customers on new or existing equipment.
  • Perform other duties as needed to help drive our Purpose, fulfill our Brand Principles, and abide by our Organization’s Value.
Qualifications
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license in the state you are applying.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and on‑call as needed.
  • Problem‑solving skills; ability to listen to customers and present solutions positively.
  • Must be able to work in small and confined areas, lift up to 80 lbs, work on a ladder, and work in all weather conditions.
  • At least 3 months of customer service or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
