Job summary

Uptown Rental Properties is seeking a dependable Field Technician to maintain exterior grounds and perform light maintenance across multiple sites. This is a full-time, first-shift role requiring a company vehicle to travel between properties and deliver hands-on service that supports resident satisfaction.

You will handle tasks from curb appeal to daily work orders using an iPhone-based system, respond to weather-related needs, and assist with moving furniture and supplies.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle report.
• Demonstrated time management and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Property & Grounds Maintenance across multiple sites to Uptown's high standards.
• Complete daily work orders efficiently using an iPhone-based system.
• Support large projects and assist with moving furniture, appliances, and materials.
• Emergency weather response to protect resident safety and comfort.

About the Role

Were looking for a dependable, skilled Field Technician to support interior and exterior property upkeep across multiple sites. This is a full-time, first-shift position requiring the use of a company vehicle to travel between properties.

Youll play a critical role in maintaining curb appeal, cleanliness, safety, and overall resident satisfaction.

What Youll Do

Property & Grounds Maintenance (65%)

Maintain exterior grounds and common areas to Uptowns high standards

Trash management, including compactor use and moving bins on scheduled days

Litter removal in exterior and interior common areas

Gutter cleaning, leaf blowing, pet station maintenance

Snow removal and salting walkways during winter weather

Work Orders & Daily Operations (20%)

Complete daily work orders efficiently using an iPhone-based system

Track property conditions and report new service issues

Support large projects and assist with moving furniture, appliances, and materials

Emergency & Weather Response (5%)

Respond to emergency weather events to ensure resident safety

Other Responsibilities (10%)

Address interruptions and unplanned needs

Support team goals and assist with additional tasks as assigned

What Youll Need

Valid drivers license and ability to operate a company vehicle

Prior Field Technician, Porter, or Grounds experience preferred

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable interacting with residents of all ages and backgrounds

Ability to pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle report

This position involves moderate to heavy physical demands, including:

Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting for ~90% of the workday

Climbing ladders up to 9 feet and working in overhead areas

Frequently lifting 50+ lbs and occasionally lifting 100+ lbs

Working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Use of PPE when required

$17–$18/hour with paid training
