Job summary

PDM is seeking a field/detailing and repair professional to work on-site, ensuring quality provisions are followed and processes are continually improved. The role involves coordinating with field managers, erectors, and project teams to install and repair steel products.

Requirements include a minimum high school diploma or GED, and about 5 years of experience in the steel industry. The position emphasizes safety, communication, and teamwork on site.

Responsibilities

  • Record and communicate information timely and accurately.
  • Manage labor, materials, supplies and equipment; provide PM cost summaries.
  • Communicate with job superintendents, erectors, and project management.
  • Inform manager of any nonconformity of product and share docs with QC/Production.
  • Review shop drawings for welding, bolting and erection procedures.
  • Ensure job site safety and cleanliness; address hazards and unsafe actions.
  • Promote the company Safety Program and ensure field personnel adhere to procedures.
  • Oversee installation and erection of PDM product; engage with erectors and clients.
  • Progress updates to Project Managers; perform steel installation as needed.
  • Engage with erectors, PMs and clients on steel repairs.

Conduct detailing and repair of product on site. Ensuring that all quality provisions are being followed, and continuously trying to improve our products and processes.

Responsibilities And Areas Of Accountability
  • Ensure all necessary information is recorded and/or communicated in a timely and accurate manner to the appropriate people.
  • Manage efficient use of labor, materials, supplies and equipment; and provide PM cost summaries.
  • Communicate effectively with job superintendents, erectors, and project management.
  • Inform manager of any nonconformity of product. Prepare docs. to share with QC and Production
  • Review shop drawings to determine required welding, bolting and erection procedures.
  • Correct safety hazards, poor behavior, and unsafe actions immediately
  • Ensure job site is clean and orderly.
  • Responsible for promoting the company Safety Program and to ensure field personnel adhere to the existing Safety Procedures.
  • Oversee the installation of Erection of PDM product.
  • Communicate directly with Project Managers on progress.
  • Perform steel installation as needed.
  • Directly engage with erectors, PM’s and client on steel repairs
  • Be respectful of PDM teammates and support teamwork amongst coworkers.

  • Master detailing and repair techniques for both structural and architectural products.
  • Master interpretation of shop drawings.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills
  • Management and Communication Skills required
Education

Minimum High School Diploma or General Education Diploma equivalent

Experience

5 years’ experience in Steel Industry desired
