Job summary

Flint Consulting Inc seeks skilled Field Installation Technicians for install/rack and stack, testing, and turn up in support of diverse deployments. The role requires 90% nationwide travel, often 4-6+ weeks on site, with a W-2 hourly compensation package including benefits, travel allowance, and OT.

Candidates should have experience with Ciena products, especially the 6500, and be able to lead projects, prepare MOPs, and deliver quality workmanship while coordinating with PMs and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead verification/continuity testing.
• Analyze job specifications and drawings.
• Prepare a Method of Procedure (MOP).
• Write Job Information Memorandums (JIMs).
• Resolve job specification and/or drawing problems.
• Complete cabling, lacing, labeling, and grounding to standards.
• Maintain office drawings and records.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
• Provide status updates to PM and lead projects.

Job description

We are seeking skilled Field Installation Technicians with experience in install/rack and stack, testing, and turn up activities to support ongoing deployments. Prior experience with Ciena products, particularly the Ciena 6500, would be highly beneficial.

Details:

• Type:W-2: hourly rate + benefits + travel allowance + OT
• Start Date:ASAP
• Travel:90% (nationwide) – must be comfortable with extensive travel, (90% nationwide travel, often 4 - 6+ weeks at a time).

Responsibilities

• Addition or removal of common systems equipment hardware.
• Addition or removal of wiring and connections (on non-working equipment only).
• Lead verification/continuity testing.
• Analysis of job specifications and drawings.
• Prepare a Method of Procedure (MOP).
• Write Job Information Memorandums (JIMs).
• Resolve job specification and/or drawing problems.
• Complete cabling, lacing, labeling, and grounding to standards.
• Mark/correct office record drawings.
• In-process and final quality inspections.
• Completed Customer Experience Learning.
• Capable of leading a project and providing status updates and communicating with PM as required.
• Be capable of performing as the Installation Supplier’s in-charge person on Common Systems jobs.

Knowledge of specific Ciena product lines:

• 6500 (including submarine applications)
• 4200

• Ability to understand and use site and product documentation.
• Understanding of labeling requirements and use of labeling equipment.
• Proper use of installation tools.
• Ciena FAST system knowledge.
• Understanding of basic AC/DC power and Power Verification.
