Great American Insurance Group (Environmental Division) seeks a senior environmental insurance professional. You will evaluate risk, guide policy development, and support portfolio growth across complex accounts. The role blends in-office collaboration with remote work, aligning with regulatory and company standards.

You will work with leadership to refine forms, endorsements, and reporting while leveraging expertise in environmental risk and reinsurance to optimize profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, business administration, finance or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in Environmental Insurance.
• Prior reinsurance experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of policy forms, filings, and product development processes.
• Strong analytical skills and a high comfort level with technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on policies, procedures, and risk evaluation for complex or high-exposure cases.
• Ensure compliance with guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to support profitability.
• Support specialty financial accounts and assist in portfolio and book of business growth.
• Collaborate on data calls, reporting, and regulatory filings with CUO and Division leadership.
• Develop and implement product line improvements, forms, endorsements, and regulatory affairs.
• Forecast portfolio performance and propose strategic appetite, pricing, and workflow improvements.

Employees are expected to maintain a meaningful on-site presence to support collaboration, relationship building, and business success.**Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities*** Delivers expert guidance on policies, procedures, and risk evaluation for highly complex or high-exposure cases.* Establishes and interprets company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to ensure compliance and profitability.* Provide support on specialty financial based or other accounts as necessary.* Responsible for growing and maintaining the closure/post closure book of business.* Serve as subject matter expert for various training programs developed by the Division.* Participate in file audit program and assist CUO in development of more robust product line audit program.* Work with the Division President, CUO, and Underwriting Director on annual data call and submission development for reinsurance treaty renewal.* Provides support with gathering and evaluating data for Division and Home Office reporting.* Work with the CUO on various Division projects including, but not limited to, update of existing forms and endorsements, creation of new forms and endorsements, regulatory affairs, Guidelines, policies, and other protocols.* Helps analyze and forecast portfolio and segment performance (e.g., loss ratios, retention, mix of business); develops and recommends strategic appetite, pricing, and workflow initiatives to optimize results.* Support the development and implementation of regulatory filings, policy language, endorsements, and insurance procedures, ensuring legal review, form control, system updates, and change management are completed in partnership with key stakeholders.* Collaborates with insurance, product, compliance, and distribution teams to resolve escalated issues and align on risk strategies.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Job Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, business administration, finance or related field.* Generally, 8-10 years of experience in Environmental Insurance.* Prior reinsurance experience is preferred.* Knowledge of policy forms, filings, and product development processes.* Must have strong analytical skills and a high comfort level with technology.**Business Unit:**Environmental**Salary Range:**$115,000.00 -$185,000.00**Benefits:**We offer competitive benefits packages for full-time and part-time employees\\*.
