Job summary

The Field Technician Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of Blade Platforms’ Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and related specialty access equipment at customer sites. This role ensures equipment is operated according to manufacturer specifications, OSHA/ANSI standards, and Blade Platforms’ internal safety protocols. The Field Technician Operator represents the company on job sites and plays a key role in customer satisfaction, equipment care, and operational excellence.

Role and Responsibilities

Operate MEWPs and specialty access equipment safely and efficiently in various field environments.

Perform pre-use inspections, function tests, and safety checks before each operation.

Operate equipment that can reach heights from 150’ to 336’.

Ability to effectively communicate with team members to maximize safety.

Attention to deadlines of assigned tasks.

Ability to work at Heights.

Follow rules, regulations, procedures, policies, and instructions and comply with all company ISO policies and applicable laws.

Have a willingness to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time.

Heavy Machinery and aerial boom experience is an advantage.

Serve as the on-site representative for Blade Platforms, maintaining professionalism and clear communication.

Provide basic equipment orientation to customers when required.

Address customer questions, elevate concerns, and ensure a positive service experience.

Adhere to OSHA, and Blade Platforms safety policies at all times.

Use required PPE and enforce safe work practices on job sites.

Report hazards, near-misses, incidents, and equipment issues immediately.

Follow lockout/tagout procedures when applicable.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications & Behaviors

2+ years’ experience in related position and Working at Heights.

Experience in construction, industrial services, wind, telecom, or equipment rental industries.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Required to sit, stand, walk, unrestricted use of hands, reach with hands and arms to lift above their head.

Required to kneel, crouch or stoop, climb ladders, bend at the waist, balance, squat, and crawl in tight or confined spaces to perform the essential functions.

Movement on uneven terrain is occasionally required to carry out essential duties.

Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material to identify the cause of errors, defects, or other problems.

Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Processing Information - Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.

Certifications preferred: GWO, Osha 10 or 30, NFPA 70E, Confined Space Awareness, Hazard Awareness, Electrical Safety & Lotto, CPR/1st Aid & Bloodborne Pathogens.
