Job summary

Custom Computer Specialists, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to own and oversee project integration from survey to closeout. You will lead field teams, coordinate vendors, and design network, wireless, and video surveillance systems.

The role requires strong technical leadership, construction-site experience, and ability to travel across NYC and Long Island. Cisco certifications and scripting skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise network infrastructure, network integration, field implementation, and technical documentation.
• CCNA certification is required.
• CCNP certification is preferred for continued professional development.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to travel throughout NYC five boroughs and to Long Island HQ as required.
• Ability to work in active construction environments and read architectural/engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical ownership and oversight for project integration from construction survey through final integration and closeout.
• Supervise and coordinate daily field activities, including staff check-ins and punch-list management.
• Design, review, and submit network, wireless, and video surveillance designs for new and renovation projects.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BoMs) and review MDF/IDF spaces and telecommunications rooms.
• Mentor Associate Systems Engineers and Technicians and drive process improvements.
