Job summary

JMT in New Jersey is seeking experienced utility designators and crew chiefs to join the Underground Utilities, Land Surveying, and Mapping team in Trenton. The role requires field work 90% of the time with travel and some night shifts. Immigration sponsorship is not available except TN visa eligibility.

Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $38.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications. Ideal candidates have a minimum of three years in utility designating, strong survey skills, and the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with utility designating and locating equipment.
• Ability to lead project assignments and supervise crews.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate surveying equipment (total station, data collector, GPS).
• Perform boundary, topography, ATLA, right-of-way, and construction surveys.
• Maintain survey equipment and record field notes clearly.
• Document assignments and collect data using survey gear.
• Perform calculations related to surveys.
