Job summary

The City of Corpus Christi Public Works is seeking a Survey Technician to assist in collecting survey data for street project evaluations as part of the Infrastructure Management Plan (IMP). Responsibilities include measuring points, elevations, lines and areas in the field for construction purposes.

You will operate survey equipment such as level, transit, theodolite, EDM, total station and drones, and may drive to project locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of relevant survey or field data collection experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a member of a survey team.
• Provides key technical and field support for planning, design, and active construction projects.
• Visits future project locations and collects data such as measurements of points, elevations, lines and areas for construction purposes.
• This function requires driving to project locations as needed.
• Perform survey calculations and provides elevation data.
• Operates survey instruments such as level, transit, theodolite, electronic distance meter, total station and drone survey equipment.
• Conducts field investigations as needed and/or directed for to gather information for staff.
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
