Job summary

Cochran Ozark, Missouri is seeking a Field Survey Technician to join our civil engineering team. This role focuses on collecting accurate field data, conducting surveys using conventional and GPS equipment, and supporting the preparation of survey maps and reports.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of outdoor work, and able to collaborate with engineers and project managers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years field surveying experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Proficiency with survey instruments and data collection tools.
• Knowledge of civil engineering plans and terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under varying conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys using conventional and GPS surveying equipment.
• Collect, record, and verify measurements, notes, and data per project specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of survey maps, sketches, and reports.
• Set up and operate survey instruments including total stations, levels, and GPS units.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and maintain equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to support design and construction projects.
• Travel to various project sites as required.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Field Survey Technician to join our civil engineering team. The ideal candidate will assist in collecting accurate field data, performing surveys, and supporting the preparation of engineering plans. This role requires hands‑on fieldwork, technical proficiency, and strong teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CAD or survey software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center)
• Familiarity with GPS and total station technology
• OSHA or construction safety training
