Job summary

Thompson Engineering in Daphne, AL seeks a full-time Survey Instrument Technician to support the Surveyor Party Chief in daily field operations. Responsibilities include operating total stations, levels, and data collectors to collect and record survey data, and assisting with loading equipment and travel to job sites.

Ideal candidates have 5 years of surveying experience, knowledge of Topcon Hyperlite, and the ability to read measurements, perform trigonometric calculations, and communicate

Qualifications

• Five (5) years verifiable experience in surveying commercial and/or heavy industrial construction stakeout.
• Must be able to read and comprehend measurements.
• Must have valid Driver's License and TWIC card.
• Be willing to travel and stay overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate total station, digital and automatic level, Topcon data collector, TDS software.
• Collect data for field notes and report to the Surveyor Party Chief.
• Assist in loading and unloading survey equipment from the company vehicle.
• Travel and stay overnight based on workload.
• Follow Health, Safety & Environmental policies and participate in safety meetings.
• Maintain punctual attendance.
