Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking an Assistant Field Engineer to join our Operations team on a project in Hampton, GA. This full-time, in-person role supports surveying activities on site and requires prior construction/surveying experience.

You will operate total stations and related equipment, interpret maps and drawings, and mark stakes for slopes and grades while working in a dynamic field environment with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• 2 years of construction/surveying experience.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including navigating standard business software.
• Must have a solid grounding in surveying math.
• Must be agile/mobile, stand or walk for long periods, able to reach, climb ladders/scaffolds.
• Able to read/write and see/hear well with or without correction.
• Must lift and carry materials weighing 50–100 lbs. 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Operate electronic total station, transit, Auto level and other surveying instruments.
• Read maps, drawings and diagrams.
• Set and marks stakes for slopes, grades and construction purposes.
• Determine lines, elevations, grades, alignments, distances; maintain tools and field notes.
