Job summary

Wattier Surveying, Inc. in Mobile, AL is seeking a reliable Survey Crew Chief to lead field crews for topographic, boundary, subdivision, ALTA and construction layout surveys. Most work occurs in Mobile and Baldwin counties, with occasional out-of-town and overnight duties.

The role involves mostly 1-man crews with GPS and robotic total station equipment, and can become 2-man crews when needed. A strong commitment to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years of Survey Crew Chief experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors daily.
• Ability to safely use sharp tools such as a machete to clear line through wooded properties.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Pass random drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate survey instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment to collect field data.
• Perform necessary calculations in the field.
• Create legible and accurate field notes.
• Maintain field survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies.
• Possess talent to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
