Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Field Support Technician to deliver remote and on-site IT infrastructure support across ANG installations nationwide. The role involves hands-on installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware, software, and networks to meet DoW standards while ensuring security compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess DoD 8140 Level II certification, strong networking knowledge, and the ability to work across diverse teams.

Qualifications

• DoD 8140 Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND) required.
• Experience with enterprise hardware and common networking technologies.
• Ability to read engineering docs, drawings, wiring diagrams and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for technical and non-technical users.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical installation tasks.
• Willingness to travel more than 50% to support nationwide deployments.

Responsibilities

• Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment at field locations.
• Performs maintenance and technical support on hardware, subsystems and software.
• Analyzes performance and troubleshoots malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Implements changes and ensures deployment in production per DoW requirements.
• Maintains customer communications and provides onsite training.
• Trains end-users on system operation and basic troubleshooting onsite.
• Travels to customer sites for field technician service duties.
• Collaborates with developers and engineers to reduce recurring incidents.
• Reviews system and network configurations for successful deployment.
