The veterinarians that use these tools rely on Field Support Representatives (FSR) to teach them how to make the best use of these machines and to troubleshoot if there are technical issues.

What can you expect?

You can expect a dynamic and exciting career with IDEXX that utilizes your veterinary practice experience and technical skills, allows travel, meeting new people, expanding your knowledge, and positively impacting pets and their owners. Your daily work involves meeting new people and building relationships with customers. Being a positive team player is essential. The FSR role is evolving to better support our customers’ needs, offering growth opportunities through comprehensive training programs.

As an FSR, you will work closely with Field Sales Representatives and Customer Support to develop strategies for maintaining customer accounts through education and customer-centric solutions. You will install and train clinic staff on IDEXX analyzers (ProCyte, Catalyst One, SediVue) and assist with critical customer visits, providing onsite technical support when needed. No two days are the same. You will visit customers daily, occasionally adjusting your schedule for customer events and emergency practice visits.

The positions are field-based, working and traveling from a home office. You will use various programs to plan your visits, serving as an IDEXX ambassador and trusted advisor. You will manage your schedule based on customer needs while focusing on your professional development.

What do you need to succeed?
  • Minimum three (3) years veterinary clinic experience, with a training and/or leadership background preferred.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with customers, management, and peers.
  • Ability to build strong customer and peer partnerships to gain confidence and trust.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work in a dynamic environment and make timely decisions.
  • Effective listening skills to discover customer needs and adapt your approach.
  • Comfort with learning and using technology such as computers, tablets, and smartphones; networking experience is a plus.

Shift info/travel
  • Weekend hours and weekday overtime may be required.
  • Overnight travel required, up to 75% of the time, including 5 days of car travel and 6-8 days of overnight travel per month (varies by region).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Willingness to relocate within the designated territory.
