Job summary

City of Burleson seeks a supervisor to oversee daily drainage maintenance crews, planning and scheduling their work to ensure proper upkeep of drainage channels, ditches, inlets and detention areas. You will supervise maintenance, repairs, inspections and operation of stormwater assets, and assist with safety and equipment training.

The role requires 5+ years in drainage or municipal maintenance and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in maintenance/repair of drainage facilities or related municipal maintenance.
• 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision for drainage maintenance employees including planning, scheduling, organizing, supervising and reviewing work.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, inspection and operation of drainage channels, ditches, inlets, culverts, pipes and detention areas.

Assists with safety, equipment, operational, and technical training of divisional personnel. This position also assists with maintaining needed records, materials, supplies, equipment, and drainage maintenance priorities.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years or more experience in maintenance and repair of drainage facilities, stormwater infrastructure, rights-of-way, streets, construction, utilities, or closely related municipal maintenance.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Any combination of education, training, experience and professional skills that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED

• Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License with good driving record.
• Must possess and maintain a Tanker Endorsement.
• Work Zone Safety Certification through IMSA or TEEX.
• Must complete City-required Excavation and Trenching Safety training.
