Job description

Current job opportunities are posted here as they become available.

At GBA Builders, we bring vision to life through collaboration, craftsmanship, and commitment. Our teams are driven by a shared passion for delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient projects that make an impact in the communities we serve. We’re looking for a Field Superintendent to support project execution by managing specific areas, trades, or scopes of work—or by serving as Project Superintendent on smaller projects, typically under $5 million with limited scopes. This role is responsible for jobsite safety, quality standards, subcontractor coordination, daily site operations, and accurate documentation of progress, incidents, and schedule impacts. When assigned full oversight of a smaller project, the Field Superintendent may also assume appropriate Project Superintendent responsibilities.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan and coordinate construction activities and logistics, including oversight of jobsite operations and support for field engineers and self-perform trades personnel.
  • Communicate with contractors and project team members regarding ASIs, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
  • Ensure subcontractors fully execute and comply with their contracted scopes of work and all safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Manage quality-control efforts for materials and completed work.
  • Coordinate and track required inspections with local jurisdictions and special inspectors.
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts related to schedule, design, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain an accurate written daily log of jobsite activities and conditions in accordance with approved GBA Builders standards.
  • Maintain an accurate photo record of work progress and site conditions.
  • Create and distribute weekly look-ahead schedules covering a minimum of three weeks.
  • Conduct daily huddle meetings and weekly coordination meetings.
  • Travel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.
  • Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required; First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with trade partners, project team members, and site leadership.
  • Familiarity with pull planning, Microsoft Project, and short-term look-ahead scheduling.
  • Basic understanding of construction quality control (CQC) standards, procedures, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
  • Basic self-awareness and the ability to respond appropriately to feedback in daily interactions.
  • Ability to recognize emotional cues in yourself and others and adjust behavior to maintain effective working relationships.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
  • Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
  • Ability to use required safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces as required by jobsite conditions.
  • Ability to work in the high-noise environments typical of active jobsites.
Travel
  • This position requires full-time travel to jobsites across the United States, with the ability to return home every other weekend.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
