Job summary

Aqua is hiring a Field Service Representative to install and maintain meters and remote reading devices at Aqua Ohio service locations. The role requires handling work orders, operating service equipment, and assisting customers with inquiries and issues.

Responsibilities include meter work, reading and testing equipment, and following safety guidelines while traveling to various sites. The position emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and customer service in a utility environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid US Driver’s license.
• Must be available for emergency work after hours, weekends and holidays.
• Must meet physical requirements including lifting up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, and maintains meters, remote reading devices and protective devices at the service location.
• Receives and processes work orders and emails using a tablet or computer.
• Safely operates, maintains, monitors, and controls service department equipment.
• Operates and inspects customer service lines, metering devices and appurtenances.
• Operates and maintains an assigned vehicle following safety guidelines.
• Elevates and reports unusual conditions in the distribution system to the supervisor.
• Responds to customer water service inquiries and resolves issues; performs service leak checks and pressure checks.
• Posts termination notices per departmental policies and procedures.
• Locates and terminates service for delinquent accounts.
• Performs tool use and maintenance of meter cleaning and test equipment.
• Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned.

Are you looking for a fantastic career at Aqua? We have a great opportunity for a Field Service Representative. This position performs a wide variety of field service tasks, but not limited to, the installation and maintenance of meters and remote reading devises used at Aqua Ohio.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, and maintains meters, remote reading devises and various protective devices at the service location.
• Receives and processes work orders and email using a tablet or computer.
• Safely and effectively operates, maintains, monitors, and/or controls service department equipment in accordance with departmental processes.
• Operates and inspects customer service lines, metering devices and appurtenances.
• Operates and maintains an assigned vehicle in accordance with all safety and maintenance processes, procedures and guidelines.
• Elevates and reports unusual conditions in the distribution system to the supervisor.
• Responds to customer water service inquiries. Meets with customer and resolves issues as needed. Activities include performing service leak checks, pressure checks, reading meters and other tasks as needed.
• Posts termination and other customer notices in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Locates, operates, closes, and/or blocks curb stops and valves to terminate service for delinquent customer accounts.
• Performs all activities in accordance with the proper use and maintenance of tools, instruments, and meter cleaning and test equipment.
• Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned.

Required Experience, Education, Licenses, And Certifications

• High school diploma or GED
• A valid US Driver’s license

• Ability to use a tablet or computer to receive and process work assignments.

• Must hold an OEPA Class I Distribution License or obtain one within the time frame specified in bargaining unit agreement.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

• May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards, fumes, dusts, mists, gases and/or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• See, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• Operate standard office equipment
• Working conditions includes travel to work sites of Essential Utilities and/or other customers
• Must be available for emergency work after regular working hours and weekends and for scheduled overtime

Employees hired or entering the bargaining unit will initially receive a $3.00/hr less than the applicable rate for all positions held or worked. The reduced starting wage shall be increased by $1.00/hr each year until the employee is paid the full wage rate. Existing union employees who bid on this position will have their pay rates determined by the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement that is in effect as of the date of this posting.
