Job summary

Wabtec invites motivated students to join a 10-week Summer Internship in Field Services, located at locomotive service facilities across North America. You will gain exposure to diesel technology, logistics, and leadership while working on real projects with our experts.

As part of the Field Services team, you’ll interact with GE/Wabtec locomotives, work alongside customer mechanics, and participate in hands-on training and professional development that could lead to a full-time role or

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and in teams.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership roles.
• Strong desire to learn and develop in diesel/automotive technology, engineering, logistics, manufacturing or related areas.
• Ability to communicate technical aptitude, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist TA’s with coordinating and providing instruction on locomotive maintenance procedures.
• Develop and maintain relationships to create repair opportunities in the shop and access labor force.
• Work as part of a cross-functional team focused on customer success within the shop.
• Complete Level 1 training courses and TA OJT tasks.
• Learn to navigate Wabtec eServices and schematics.
• Gain understanding of emission standards and critical components.
• Complete short-term projects assigned by Shop manager.
• All other duties as required.
