Job summary

Omnicell is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for electro-mechanical and automation solutions in healthcare facilities. The role supports the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area and requires competence in hospital environments and electronics.

Level II includes independent onsite work, coaching staff, and advanced problem solving, with travel and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
• Experience working in a hospital environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline and experience troubleshooting electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices and Quality Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical solutions.
• Communicate with nursing and pharmacy staff and handle problems of moderate or advanced scope.
• Independently perform onsite troubleshooting for Level II and coach/mentor as needed.
• Document all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures.
• Meet response time and service level guidelines; participate in staff meetings.

Field Service Engineer Level I Responsibilities And Qualifications

• Responsibilities:
• Provide moderate-level onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical solutions.
• Regularly communicate with manager-level nursing and pharmacy staff and work on problems of moderate scope.
• Basic Qualifications:
• Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
• Experience working in a hospital environment.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline and experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.

Field Service Engineer Level II Responsibilities And Qualifications

• Responsibilities:
• Independently perform onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical and automation solutions.
• Regularly communicate with director-level nursing and pharmacy staff and tackle problems of advanced scope.
• Provide coaching and mentoring as needed.
• Basic Qualifications:
• Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
• Experience working in a hospital environment.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or a related discipline AND one year of relevant experience; OR
• Associate's Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology related discipline, AND four years of relevant experience; OR seven years equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices and Quality Management Systems.

Shared Responsibilities For Both Levels

• Thoroughly document all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures.
• Meet company guidelines for response time and service levels.
• Escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels.
• Participate in various staff meetings.
• Maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Manage parts inventory and return materials process.

Work Conditions For Both Levels

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to approximately 5 ft. high.
• Available 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday, and for weekend on-call rotations.
• Frequent local travel in the primary area.
• Backup support in adjacent areas as needed.
• Provide work area at home and space for trunk stock inventory.

Note: The selected individual must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, be able to meet Omnicell's insurance coverage requirements, and have their own vehicle in acceptable working condition.
