Field Service Technician – Utility, Heavy, Diesel Mechanic

Join us as a Field Service Technician – Utility, Heavy, Diesel Mechanic at Custom Truck One Source.

Position Overview

Based in Las Vegas Metro, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain chassis, track-mounted aerials, digger derricks, cranes, high rail, and other heavy equipment in the field, adhering to dealer and factory standards.

What We Offer

• Utility trucks equipped with cranes, welders, air compressors, and specialty tools.
• Variety of equipment including boom trucks, cranes, bucket/dump trucks, digger derricks, utility trucks, and more.
• Tools provided; valid driver’s license required; Class B CDL preferred.
• Monday to Friday, day shifts, with overtime and weekend work as needed.
• Overnight travel up to 50% may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Report issues to the Field Service Manager with detailed supporting information.
• Read and interpret manuals and repair instructions; utilize diagnostic tools and software.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect and service vehicles both in the shop and in the field, ensuring quality and safety standards.
• Complete documentation accurately, including repair reports and timecards.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to minimize downtime.
• Travel as needed and participate in safety and factory training programs.
• Assist in growing customer satisfaction and perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Requirements

• Experience with electrical schematics, hydraulics, welding, and diagnostic software like Quick Serve or DTNA.
• Knowledge of DOT, ANSI, and dielectric testing is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED; five years of relevant experience (shop and field tech).
• Valid driver’s license; CDL Class B preferred.
• Own tools required.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort with heights, manual labor, and operating tools.
• Maintain a positive attitude, punctuality, and professionalism.
