Job summary

Setpoint Integrated Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician PRV II to perform valve repair and adhere to ValvKeep and Quality Standardization Procedures.

You will identify contaminated valves via SDS, learn to repair valves to company standards, and use the BH Green Tag Channel Connect system. You will gain knowledge of shop equipment, test stands, and machining tools and prepare for manufacturer training.

Qualifications

  • HS or GED is a plus.
  • 2-5 years in the valve or related industry.
  • Green Tag Certification through Level II completed.
  • PMI certification and diagnostic equipment training completed.
  • OSHA and TWIC as required.
  • Ability to assemble and test valves from multiple manufacturers.
  • Proficient use of precision measurement tools.
  • Willingness to travel with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform valve assembly, testing and troubleshooting per codes and customer requirements.
  • Locate, read and understand manuals for installation and operation.
  • Identify corrective actions; perform PMI as needed.
  • Calibrate measurement equipment according to internal procedures.
  • Mentor Field Service Tech I employees and support OJT.
  • Possibly lead in a designated area and travel to sites.

As a Field Service Technician PRV II, you will adhere to ValvKeep and Quality Standardization Procedures throughout the valve repair process. You will become proficient in identifying contaminated valves using Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and recognizing missing parts. You will learn to repair valves according to company standards and utilize BH Green Tag Channel Connect. Additionally, you will gain introductory knowledge of various shop equipment, including test stands and machining tools, and be prepared for manufacturer training.

Responsibilities
  • All additional job responsibilities of a Field Service Technician - PRV I
  • Locate, use, and comprehend manufacturer installation and operation manuals
  • Perform inspection to identify necessary corrective action as authorized
  • Perform PMI
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and customer requirements
  • Install instrumentation/accessories as necessary
  • Operate diagnostic equipment (i.e. EVT, AVK, Hydroset, etc.)
  • Performing calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality procedures
  • Measure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specifications
  • Support Field Service Technician – PRV I employees through mentoring and on-the-job (OJT) training
  • May act in a leadership role for assigned area
Positional Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education & Experience
    • HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
    • 2 - 5 years of industry experience
  • Skills & Abilities
    • Meets all Pressure Relief Valve Technician I qualifications and requirements
    • Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
    • Completed Green Tag Certification through Level II
    • Completed inspection assessment
    • Successful completion of Pressure Relief Valve Level II Written and Performance Tests
    • Completed Pilot Valve Training
    • Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
    • Demonstrate the ability to properly assemble and test valves/equipment of multiple pressure relief valve manufacturers
    • Demonstrate proficient use of precision dimensional equipment (i.e. dial caliper, micrometer, etc.)
    • Demonstrate ability to bend and fit tubing
    • Complete certification training for use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipment
    • Completion of diagnostic equipment training and/or certification
    • Demonstrate proficiency in operating of test equipment (steam, air, liquid)
    • Demonstrate proficiency in calibration of test gauges and/or transducers
    • Complete certification of Certified Individual (CI)
    • Effective oral & written communication skills
    • Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Supervision:
    • Minimal supervision required
  • Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
  • Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening

  • Lifting: up to 50 pounds
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
  • Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
