Job summary

BearCom in Denver, CO is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will be responsible for hands-on installation, commissioning, and ongoing service of RF equipment and dispatch consoles.

A strong customer-service mindset and technical problem-solving are essential. The role requires 3+ years of RF/2-way radio experience, familiarity with DAS/BDA systems, and the ability to work with MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Service Technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints and diagrams.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multicouplers, and duplexers; TCP/IP principles and NIC programming.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel) and basic networking concepts.
• CET Certification a plus; Journeyman level within 6 months of employment.
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• R56 Certification a plus; Astro 25 knowledge is beneficial.
• Knowledge of audio, RF, digital, and microprocessor circuits in communications equipment.
• Security clearance preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Drug screenings and background checks are part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones)
• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS, microwave, CCTV)
• Recommend equipment and hardware meeting customer requirements
• Some regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required

As a Field Service Technician II with BearCom, you will be responsible for installing and supporting wireless communications systems.

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• R56 Certified Installer.
• Motorola Astro 4x-7x training providing support for various system operations.
• Certification in various Astro 25 products (Quantar, GTR8000, MCC5500/7500, etc..)
• Certification in various MotoTRBO products and systems (Connect+, Capacity+, Linked Capacity+, IP Site Connect, Capacity Max etc.).
