Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems in the New York area. You will work on UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS, and related equipment, providing practical, customer-focused service.

The role requires 5+ years in two-way radio diagnostics, programming and installation, with strong RF knowledge and the ability to read schematics. Some travel and on-call hours are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience in 2-way radio systems.
• Experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing RF equipment.
• Knowledge of Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment.
• Strong RF theory and propagation knowledge.
• Ability to interpret schematics and diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install and service wireless communications equipment including UHF/VHF systems.
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels).
• Diagnose and repair RF equipment.
• Recommend equipment meeting customer requirements.
• Occasional regional or overnight travel and on-call hours.

Journeyman level must be attained within 6 months of employment.Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.R56 Certified Installer.Motorola Astro 4x-7x training providing support for various system operations.Certification in various Astro 25 products (Quantar, GTR8000, MCC5500/7500, etc..)Certification in various MotoTRBO products and systems (Connect+, Capacity+, Linked Capacity+, IP Site Connect, Capacity Max etc.).Knowledge of audio, RF, digital, and microprocessor electronic circuits found in communications equipment at the component level.Security Clearance preferred.
