Job description

Are you a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit? If you said yes and are interested in the technical part of managing and servicing sophisticated systems that improve our customer's businesses, this might be the role for you.

As a Field Service Technician on our Service team, you will be the primary interface with customers after projects are complete. This highly technical, dedicated team ensures maximum up-time of equipment for our customers, while also identifying potential sales for aging equipment or where enhancements or modifications might be needed. We manage a variety of systems including standard products and custom projects in life science, friction stir welding, material handling, robotics, aerospace, environmental, crane, nuclear and other industries / applications.

In this role you will be responsible for inspection, calibration, service and repairs of custom automated assembly, advanced manufacturing, and materials handling systems. You have responsibility for planning and coordinating inspections, calibrations, repairs, execution of aftermarket upgrades and commissioning of standard and custom PAR products within the industry.

Success Criteria

Your experience in troubleshooting, inspection, calibration, service, and repairs of custom automated assembly, advanced manufacturing, and materials handling systems will help you hit the ground running. Your ability to evaluate and make recommendations for repairs and upgrades is just the beginning. In this role, you will get to see those recommendations come to life by fully executing repairs, upgrades, and commissioning equipment. When you’re not traveling to customer sites, you’ll provide remote troubleshooting support, which is why strong communication skills are key to what you bring to this role.

You’re comfortable working hands‑on in a variety of customer environments and understand what it takes to get the job done safely and effectively. Whether performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, supporting an installation, or completing an upgrade, you’ll follow PAR and customer‑specific safety procedures while adapting to the unique demands of each site.

You bring ownership to customer‑site work from start to finish. You’ll communicate directly with customers, coordinate with PAR team members, subcontractors, and site personnel, and help keep installations and service work moving forward. Just as important, you’ll close the loop by documenting the work performed, completing required reports and paperwork, and making sure customers understand the condition of their equipment and recommended next steps.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Automation, Industrial Electricity, Electronic Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent vocation/technical training and experience (preferred)
  • 2-5 years of previous field service experience
  • Previous field service experience with servo-hydraulic, closed loop systems and controls preferred and highly desirable
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wire diagrams.
  • Computer skills to include MS Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI and CMAA codes or regulations
  • Travel 50-70% (mostly planned and scheduled well in advance)
  • US Person
