Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking Field Service Technicians to independently complete repairs on lifesaving medical devices, so hospitals can return equipment to service quickly and maintain critical patient care.

You will troubleshoot electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, load and unload heavy devices, demonstrate safety and quality during service, train other team members, and provide on-call coverage 24/7, including weekends and holidays, to ensure uptime and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Obtain and maintain a DOT physical card.
• Prior technical or mechanical repair work required.
• Applicable technical or trade school training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on medical devices.
• Troubleshoot devices and ensure functionality.
• Train and assist other team members and address customers.
• Perform service on site and support with service contracts.
• Load, unload and move medical products weighing up to 1680 pounds.
• Provide on-call coverage 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
• Safely operate a fleet vehicle or company car up to 26,000 pound truck.
• Generate service revenue and complete activities required under service contract.

Role Overview

Field Service Technicians contribute to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by working independently to complete repairs on lifesaving medical devices. By completing these repairs in a timely fashion, the device can be returned to usage by the hospital that has rented or purchased it.

Responsibilities

• Field Service Technicians are trained on our devices and build on previous mechanical or technical knowledge.
• Apply troubleshooting skills to medical devices and ensure our products function accurately.
• Demonstrate leadership by assisting with training other team members and addressing customers (Field Service Technician II).
• Perform electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair of assigned products.
• Use appropriate tools for required adjustments and repairs.
• Provide on-call coverage up to 24/7, including weekends and holidays, which may require customer account visits.
• Load, unload and remove medical products weighing up to 1680 pounds.
• Generate service revenue and complete activities required under service contract.
• Safely operate a fleet vehicle or company car ranging from a cargo van up to a 26,000 pound truck.

Compensation

Estimated base salary for this position is $48,000 - $66,000, varying by location, skills, experience, and other factors.
