Job summary

Westinghouse Electric invites you to join a dedicated Field Service Technician I team supporting fuel handling equipment at nuclear power plants and service centers. You will travel extensively (60–80%) and work on-site at plants or in Madison, PA, with safety and quality as priorities.

The role emphasizes training, inspections, calibrations, and troubleshooting, with opportunities to gain certifications and advance within the PWR Refuel Resources organization.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and the equivalent required; 2 years post high school degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years in industrial field with demonstrated mechanical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Train to install, set-up, maintain, inspect, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot fuel handling/outage critical refuel equipment at customer sites worldwide.
• Support equipment maintenance at the Waltz Mill service center between outage assignments.
• Review operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and drawings in detail.
• Participate in training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and stay current with technology and procedures.
• Practice a Safety First attitude and maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Gain and maintain unescorted access status at nuclear power plant sites.
• Collaborate with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments; demonstrate teamwork.
• Report status of field work progress, changes, problems and mistakes during outage shifts.
• Travel extensively by airplane or automobile (60%-80%) and work around hazardous materials.
