Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems is hiring Field Service Technicians to service standby generators throughout the Northeast. If you have experience with engines, electrical systems, or heavy equipment—especially in automotive, trucking, marine, or construction—you may thrive in this role.

We provide training to transition into power generation and build a long-term career. The company is family-owned, with 60+ years in generator service, sales, and rentals.

Qualifications

• Experience with engines, electrical systems or heavy equipment.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on generators.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotating schedule.
• Must provide your own tools and be safety-focused (OSHA 10 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on standby generator systems (8kW-1MW).
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, load-bank test and start generators.
• Prepare accurate quotes for repairs and complete work orders.
• Work on residential or industrial generators.
• Maintain safety and professionalism with customers.

Key Responsibilities and Preferred Experience:

• Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on standby generator systems (Ranging from 8kW-1mW)
• Troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, load-bank testing and start-ups on generators
• Preparing accurate quotes for repairs and completing/submitting work orders
• Previous experience working on residential or industrial generators
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• The ability to participate in an on call, rotating schedule
• Must provide your own tools (multi-meter, hand-tools, etc.)
• Very safety focused with an OSHA 10 (or the ability to attain one)
• Valid DOT Card (or the ability to attain one) and a valid driver’s license
