Job summary

PCP, part of Pioneer Power Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: PPSI) is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform service, maintenance, and repairs on generators in Champlin, MN.

This role requires hands-on electrical and mechanical skills, travel readiness, and the ability to lift heavy loads. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of industrial generator experience, diesel/natural gas engines, and tools; strong troubleshooting ability; and clean driving records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Clear criminal and driving records.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with industrial power generation.
• Experience with diesel and natural/LP gas engines, switch gear and transfer switches.
• Must have own general tools and be able to use computers/tablets for service & work orders.
• Physically able to lift 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance, and repairs on generators of all makes and kW sizes.
• Inspect, repair, service and start-up load bank test equipment.
• Troubleshoot engines, controllers, wiring, safety devices and cooling systems.
• Start-up and load bank test equipment as required.
• Document field service reports daily.

POSITION: FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

We are seeking experienced field service generator technicians to join our team and help support our expanding business in Minnesota..

Job Duties

• Service, maintenance, and repairs on all makes and kW sizes of generators
• Inspect, Repair, Service and Start-Up Load Bank Test Requirements on Equipment
• Troubleshoot all generator components including engine, alternator, controllers, wiring harnesses, safety devices, battery systems and cooling systems.
• Start-up and load bank test equipment
• Apply technical skills to identify the Problem and Cause of Failure through Logical Troubleshooting Steps, Determine Corrective Action
• Repair and Troubleshoot Engines such as Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU and Volvo, among others
• Complete field service reports(FSR’s) daily.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ of experience working with industrial power generations sets or similar transferrable skills
• Experience with diesel and natural/LP gas engines, electrical switch gear, and automatic transfer switches
• Must have your own set of general tools
• Use of computers/mobile devices for web based service & work order system
• Must be physically able to lift 75lbs with no restrictions
