Job summary

EquipmentShare is seeking a Field Service Technician – Construction Equipment Diagnostics for our Cape Giradeau, MO rental facility.

The role involves diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, using laptops/tablets to manage work orders and documentation, and ordering parts to speed troubleshooting. You’ll travel to customer sites, coach junior technicians, and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; trade school certificate preferred.
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; 21+ to operate a company vehicle.
• Deep familiarity with construction equipment, schematics, and diagrams.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Manage work orders and documentation daily using laptops/tablets.
• Order parts and leverage live diagnostics to speed troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate safe work practices on every job.
• Coach lower-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to customer sites and keep a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Apply OSHA knowledge on the job (preferred).
• Other duties as assigned.

Quick facts

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• OT after 40 hours
• On-call rotation may apply with additional compensation

What will I do?

• Repair and maintain complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems using sound judgment
• Use laptops/tablets comfortably to manage work orders and documentation daily
• Order parts and leverage live diagnostics to speed troubleshooting
• Demonstrate safe work practices every time
• Coach lower-level technicians as needed
• Assist with equipment/parts pick-up and delivery
• Travel to customer sites; keep a clean, professional service vehicle
• Apply OSHA knowledge on the job (preferred)
• Other duties as assigned
