Job summary

Crown is seeking a skilled field service technician in the Town of New Paltz, NY area. You will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair lift trucks, perform scheduled maintenance, and manage a service van and its inventory.

Responsibilities include completing required paperwork after each service visit. A valid driver’s license and safe lift truck operation are essential. Competitive starting pay is offered.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; able to safely operate lift trucks.

Job description

• Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
• Maintain a service van and its inventory.
• Process paperwork after completion of each job.

Minimum Qualifications

• Less than 2 years related experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
• Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
• Familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder and various types of testing equipment.
• Industry related training is preferred
• Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow-through

Competitive Wages. The anticipated starting pay range for the position is $27 to $39 but is commensurate with skills and related experience.
