Our expertise in utilizing enterprise resource planning (ERP), 3D computer aided design (CAD) software, and on‑site manual and CNC machines make us a one‑stop‑shop for industry‑leading products, turnkey solutions, and worldwide service.

If you're looking to make a difference and Build Something Greater at a dynamic, forward‑looking company, Welker might be the right fit for you.

About Our Field Service Technician

Our ideal candidate is a self‑motivated technician with a strong desire to learn about our products. Someone who loves taking care of customers and working with their hands. If you are mechanically‑minded and enjoy troubleshooting and problem‑solving, this is the position for you! It’s a physical job - you may be on your feet for 90% to 95% of your workday. You should be able to safely lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. A commitment to safety in oil and natural gas and refinery environments is required.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to service‑related inquiries (return materials, service requests, R&D requests, commissioning orders, etc.), including determining the activities necessary to resolve any issues and completing any necessary paperwork to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers on service needs, recommended maintenance, and other service‑related questions.
  • Interpret machine drawings, routings, and bills of material to understand and meet design specifications.
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment and make repairs or retrofits in a timely manner.

These are some of the more frequent tasks you could expect to perform during your workday, but you may be called upon to fulfill other duties as needed.

Key Skills
  • Communication: You will interact with internal and external parties, so good written and verbal communication are necessary.
  • Teamwork: You work well with others with an attitude of cooperation and achievement, and you are committed to the success of the team as a whole.
  • Technical Aptitude: You'll be at home working in an innovative, mechanically‑minded group; we design and manufacture a full line of mechanical products and instrumentation used in several industries.
  • Commitment to Learning: You are committed to learning and acquiring the skills necessary to master your trade, including adapting to new techniques and technology.
Qualifications
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing setting and with the physical requirements of the position.
  • Must have strong technical aptitude, good problem‑solving abilities, and the ability to learn and understand product mechanics, electrical wiring, and some electronics.
  • Ability to read and understand machine drawings and manufacturing instructions.
  • This position requires some travel and compliance to customer site requirements including a clean driving record, routine drug testing, and physicals, and occasional wearing of breathing equipment and other protective equipment that may require minimal facial hair or other accommodations.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, supplemented by hands‑on or vocational school training or relevant experience.
Benefits

This is a full‑time position with the opportunity for overtime. Field Service Technicians are eligible for a bonus program in addition to base salary. Starting salary is determined by experience, education, and potential. Welker cares for our employees, so we offer competitive benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with company matching, and tuition reimbursement.
