Job summary

Burwell Material Handling is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our on-the-road service team. You’ll travel to customer sites across St.

Rose, LA and surrounding areas, diagnosing and repairing forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment with top brands. You'll work independently with strong team backing, receive ongoing training, and have opportunities for growth in a company that values hands-on problem solving and reliability.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in forklift, heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive repair.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally and meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, boom lifts, and other warehouse vehicles
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, LP/diesel engine, and electrical systems
• Use diagnostic tools like multimeters and hydraulic gauges to pinpoint and fix problems
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep customer equipment running smoothly
• Service multiple brands including Hyundai, Bobcat, Clark, Genie, JLG, Skyjack
• Participate in manufacturer-certified training to stay up to date on equipment and repair techniques
• Promote service offerings like maintenance programs, inspections, and parts
• Inspect and maintain your service vehicle, tools, and inventory for safety and readiness
• Support and mentor junior techs when needed
• Willingness to travel within the assigned service territory

About the Role:

As a Field Service Technician with Burwell, you’ll be on the road each day, clocking in from your company-provided service vehicle and heading to customer sites across St. Rose, LA and surrounding territories. You’ll service and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, aerial lifts, and other equipment from top brands that keep warehouses running. You’ll work independently with a strong team behind you, receive ongoing training, and grow your career with a company that’s growing too. • Willingness to travel within the assigned service territory
