Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Support Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot and repair GE High Voltage Circuit Breakers, Disconnect Switches, and Capacitor Banks at customer sites.

The role requires mechanical and electrical expertise, ability to read drawings, and frequent travel up to 80%. Responsibilities include servicing equipment, supervising contractors, completing field reports, and interfacing with customers.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electrical and or Mechanical Technology or a highly related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience manufacturing (preference given to field experience).
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time within the US and abroad via air travel and car rental.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical work in electrical substations. Inspects equipment, structures, and materials at designated sites to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• Services, repairs, and adjusts parts of equipment that operate largely based on mechanical principles.
• Analyzes information and evaluates results to select the best solution and resolve customer issues.
• Performs physical activities that requires considerable dexterity and agility.
• Support GE Factory Production and other GE Departments as needed.
• Operate man lifts and reach fork truck.
• Supervise and give direction to contractors, customer personnel and junior GE Field Technicians.
• Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner including Field Service Reports, timecards and expense reports.
• Interface between the GE and Customer.

The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $36.00-$43.00/hour depending on experience, qualifications, and position level (Tech I or Tech II) The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity
