Job summary

Aerzen USA Corp, a global manufacturer of high-quality blowers and compressors, seeks an experienced Field Service Technician. You will install, service, and repair Aerzen products at customer sites, including startups, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

Overnight travel is often required, with strong emphasis on safety and quality. The role requires an associate degree in electronics or equivalent, 4+ years in field service, and proficiency with Windows,Office, TCP/IP and RS-485; PLC

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics technology or equivalent experience.
• Over 4 years of field service/repair experience on rotating equipment.
• Proficiency with Windows, Office, and networks; PLC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform startups, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance on Aerzen products at customer sites.
• Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain control and instrumentation; install electrical/pneumatic connections.
• Read diagrams, checklists, and drawings to perform service tasks and repairs.
• Communicate with customers to discuss requirements, provide status updates, and discuss options.
• Prepare service reports, expense reports, and commissioning graphs using company software.]
• Travel to customer sites as required, often overnight.

What You'll Do:

As a Field Service Technician, you will perform and carry out all tasks related to installing, assembling, servicing, and repairing Aerzen products. They provide customers with prompt, professional and high-quality service. Work is performed at our location and/or at our customers' location. Services provided may be scheduled or on-demand. Overnight travel on short notice is often required.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Performs startups, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and/or preventive maintenance service on all Aerzen Products at customer sites; Represent Aerzen in professional and courteous manner following all Aerzen and customer safety requirements.
• Installing, configuring, calibrating and maintaining control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital); Installing and terminating electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections; Understand controls narratives and analyze/troubleshoot process application related issues.
• Analyzing and correcting communication issues; Properly address TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications.
• Perform repairs and assembly on Aerzen Products; Disassemble; assess damage and evaluate failures on machines; diagnose problems with Aerzen machines by evaluating material condition and asking the customer questions; demonstrates the ability to offer machine-based recommendations; can identify the root cause of a machine failure; Utilize defined procedures and a standard rebuild kit.
• Read, understand and use equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and other process documentation to perform service tasks, assembly and repairs on Aerzen Products.
• Communicate with customers to discuss job requirements, provide recommendations and service options, listen to customer concerns, and provide status updates during service call and at completion.
• Evaluate customer future needs and communicate information through appropriate channels.
• Assist engineering in plant design, modifications and hazard analysis.
• Plan and schedule travel to best meet customer requirement, service schedule requirement and time efficiency utilizing the Concur booking tool.
• Complete job-related service reports, expense reports and forms in a timely basis; Collect data and make commissioning graphs using Company Software.
• Complete written repair reports to document cause of failure, description of work performed, materials consumed, condition of equipment as received and as returned to the customer.
• Conduct customer training on Aerzen Products when onsite.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards, established safety procedures and maintains a clean, safe work area.
• Participate in departmental initiatives such as, but not limited to, inventory counts, shop organization, clean-up and other duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Associates Degree (2 years schooling) in electronics technology or equivalent experience.

Experience (yrs):

Over 4 years of Field Service and Repair experience in rotating equipment.

Software/Applications:

Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet Abilities; TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications; Allen Bradley PLC experience is preferred.

Other:

• Functional Skills: Excellent planning, prioritization, organization, and execution skills; high attention to details and ability to analyze large amounts of data; analytical and logical thinker who can problem-solve and implement solutions, excellent with time management.
• Other Skills: RS Logix 5000 experience is preferred; PLC or similar Ladder-Logic programming experience is desired; Ability to Interpret process flow, control wiring, as well as piping and instrumentation diagrams; Welding (brazing, cutting, welding, plasma) a plus.
• Strong customer-focus, excellent leadership and change-management skills, with the ability to listen, motivate, and influence others to action; high integrity and compliance mindset.

Ability to travel 100% of the time.
