Central Georgia Refrigeration - A Tech24 Company is seeking an experienced HVACR Technician in Charleston, SC to minimize downtime and ensure customer operations run safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, EPA Universal Certification, and strong problem-solving skills. The role requires on-site work, on-call rotation, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Experience with walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, prep tables, undercounter coolers, etc.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers).
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment including walk-ins and rooftop units.
• Perform preventative maintenance to optimize equipment performance and longevity.
• Install, replace, and commission HVAC and refrigeration systems as needed.
• Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and interactions in the system.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues and maintenance plans.
• Maintain EPA compliance and safety regulations.
• Manage truck inventory for parts and tools.
• Respond to emergency service calls promptly.

Central GA Refrigeration is a full-service Georgia refrigeration and restaurant equipment repair company that services and installs commercial refrigeration, ice machines and restaurant equipment.

Position Summary

As part of the CGA team and broader Tech24 network, the HVACR technician plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring customers' operations run efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently while representing the company with professionalism and integrity. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, etc.)
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, rooftop units, split systems, and exhaust/make-up air systems
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
• Install, replace, and commission HVAC and refrigeration systems as needed
• Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment issues, repair recommendations, and preventative maintenance plans
• Maintain EPA compliance and adhere to all local, state and federal safety regulations
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
• Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, prep tables, undercounter coolers, etc.
• 3-5+ years of experience with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, mixers, combi-ovens, griddles, warmers, etc.)
• EPA Universal Certification required
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical diagnostics, airflow systems, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
• Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
• Own industry standard hand tools
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $40-$45 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, manufacture certifications, or specialized expertise may be considered at the higher end of the range.
