Job summary

Insight Global is seeking Traveling Field Service Technicians to support field activities in and around Atlanta, GA. You will install and modify electrical and mechanical subassemblies, perform testing and commissioning, and troubleshoot switchgear systems in collaboration with contractors and clients.

You must have a technical degree or equivalent and at least 2 years in manufacturing, data center, or field service roles involving LV/MV switchgear commissioning.

Qualifications

• A technical degree or equivalent and 2+ years in manufacturing, data center or field service with commissioning LV/MV switchgears.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Willing to travel about 60% and work evenings/weekends when needed.
• Experience reading/interpreting electrical wiring diagrams.
• Experience with switchgear and electrical controls systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies (panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear sections, control components, power cabling, control wiring).
• Perform basic testing and commissioning of modified assemblies, switchboards, control panels, and power products; troubleshoot electrical networks.
• Support preventive maintenance, field installations and equipment modifications; coordinate with project management and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and plan field resources.
• Provide technical product support during installation and post-installation activities.

Job description

A client of Insight Global is looking for multiple Traveling Field Service Technicians to join their team out of Atlanta, GA. This role involves attending project meetings as needed and coordinating with contractors and clients to support field activities. Responsibilities include the installation and modification of electrical and mechanical components and subassemblies such as panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear sections, control components, power cabling, and control wiring. The position performs basic testing and commissioning of modified assemblies, switchboards, control panels, and power products, as well as troubleshooting electrical circuits and associated networking equipment. The role also supports preventive maintenance, field installations, and equipment modifications, while collaborating with technical project management and manufacturing teams to resolve product or commissioning issues and identify required field resources and replacement parts. Technical product support is provided throughout installation and post-installation activities.

Required Skills & Experience

A technical degree or equivalent and 2 yrs+ of experience working in a manufacturing environment, data center or field service role with commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgears Must be a team player and have strong communication skills Ability to travel (60%).
