Job summary

MAPCO Express, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician I to service retail locations in the Cleveland/Akron area. Responsibilities include repairing facilities and fuel equipment, diagnosing issues, and performing routine maintenance.

You will handle work orders, inventory, and tools, and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade training preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of fuel equipment and POS systems is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of convenience store facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot fuel equipment (Gilbarco/Wayne dispensers) and Veeder Root.
• Perform electrical work, lighting, and basic maintenance as needed.
• Manage work orders, inventory, and tools; coordinate with manager.
• Travel between Cleveland/Akron stores and participate in on-call rotation.

Job description

Position Title: Field Service Technician I

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Job Type: Full Time

Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Travel- Cleveland/Akron, Ohio

The primary function of this role is to provide technical support and maintenance for all retail locations, including installing, maintaining , and troubleshooting all systems, equipment, and facilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for timely and accurate repairs of convenient store facilities and equipment.
• Basic knowledge in fuel and/or general maintenance such as lighting, Passport, and food service.
• Primary maintenance responsibility focused on fuel equipment:
• Troubleshooting repairs and routine maintenance of Gilbarco and or Wayne dispensers and Veeder Root:
• Changing fuel filters, breakaways, and nozzles
• Performs technician work including but not limited to:
• minor electrical repairs (breakers, outlets, lighting, etc.)
• Responds quickly to emergency calls and high priority work.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage time.
• Perform all requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Manage purchase receipts, parts inventory, and tools.
• Maintain assigned vehicle which includes coordinating vehicle maintenance and ensure the vehicle is clean and well organized.
• Transfer of equipment from warehouse to store and from store to store.
• Process and update work order status’ in a timely manner .
• Communicate daily with the Manager and maintenance support center.
• Maintain timely and accurate record keeping including time sheets, parts inventory, tools inventory, vacation requests and other related documents.
• Perform other duties as required .

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of fuel equipment and or POS (cash register) systems are a plus.
• Knowledgeable and skilled in minor electrical work.
• Knowledgeable and skilled in lighting repair and ballast replacement.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities .
• Work in a safe and efficient manner, quick to respond to maintenance needs.
• Ability to work from a ladder
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• A self-starter with a thirst for knowledge, who pursues goals and objectives despite obstacles, resistance, or competition from others.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with third-party vendors and Sr. Management.
• Ability to listen to a problem, analyze the problem, and develop the best solution.
• Ability to make decisions regarding critical systems quickly, based on facts and experience.
• Ability to serve in an on-call rotation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma, trade school or other training is preferred.
• 1+ years of experience or equivalent experience/education.
