Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC seeks a Field Technician for full-time, non-exempt work. Primary duties include terminating and restoring water service, installing theft deterrents, and ensuring accurate account info before restoration. You must meet minimum qualifications and thrive in a team environment.

Role emphasizes safety, customer service, and compliance with regulations. Strong communication and outdoor work readiness are essential; union membership is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of Meter Reading or related field experience.
• Ability to comprehend handheld technology; i.e. Mobile Phones, GPS, PDA’s, and Digital Cameras.
• Strong interest in the construction process; preference toward HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas Lines, Mechanical Trades, Skilled Laborer Trades, Auto Mechanic Skills, Carpentry, and Telecommunications.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions applicable.
• Must be willing to join the union and pay union dues.

Responsibilities

• Terminate and restore water service.
• Install theft deterrent devices upon termination.
• Obtain and provide updated account information prior to restoration of service.
• Perform emergency restorations as required.
• All work performed per PUC Chapter 56 regulations.
• Prepare and deliver 72-hour and 48-hour notices of intent to terminate water service for non-payment.
• Work to standards within time frames set by Field Supervisor and Project Manager.
• Commit to customer service and respond to needs of internal and external customers.
• Complete all work in an organized, timely manner per standard practice.
• Identify and report hazardous working conditions to management.
• Set priorities and work with scheduled time requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to company policies and safety practices.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Termination and restoration of water service
• Installation of theft deterrent devices upon termination
• Obtain and provide updated account information prior to restoration of service

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of exceptional customer service experience.

Pre-Screen

License & Certifications

• Valid driver license required.

Travel Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation to and from the work location.
