Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. seeks a field service specialist to install and service compressor and turbine packages at factories or customer sites. You will supervise installations, startup, and perform maintenance per procedures while working on rotating equipment across North America.

Travel up to 80% is required; strong reading of drawings and electrical schematics is essential, as is collaboration with project teams to meet customer site needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read drawings and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of rotational equipment and shaft alignment.
• Experience with balancing and disk couplings is a plus.
• Familiarity with PLCs and HMI basics (AB/Siemens/Modicon).
• Able to use a power meter and learn continuously.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble compressor and turbine package components at factory or customer sites.
• Supervise or perform installation and startup of equipment.
• Rebuild and change compressor/turbine components during service.
• Perform routine maintenance per procedures including enclosure/ductwork work.
• Troubleshoot and support root cause analysis on major rotating equipment.
• Install electrical components in control panels and program PLC/HMI basics.

What Will You Do?

• Writeandcompileservicereportsincludingbutnotlimitedtochecklists,dailylogsandpicturesforProjectManagement.


• PerformworkfollowingHowden-TurblexEHSguidelines.


• Coordinatewithplant/sitesmaintenancesuperintendentsfortoolsandnecessarysupportneededtoperformservices.


• Supportclaimmanagementprocessasneeded.

Your Experience Should Be...

• Abilitytoreadandunderstanddrawingsandelectricalschematics.


• Knowledge of rotational equipment in order to do shaft alignment, use of laser equipment, balancing techniques and process, application and use of disk flexible couplings, electrical motors used as pumps or main drivers.


• Knowledgeofinternalturbocompressorcomponentsinordertodisassemble,changecomponentsandre-assemble is a plus.


• Electricalpanelknowledge.


• AllenBradley,Siemens,ModiconPLCandHMIbasicprogrammingisa plus.


• Abilitytouseapowermeter.


• Abilitytolearnandtoparticipateincontinuouseducationforturbocompressorsandturbines.


• Ability to work with interdisciplinary groups (Project Management, Engineering, Sales) to align in the solutions and communications offered to customers.
